Hands-free
Voice Grocery List App
A grocery list you build by talking. Add items hands-free while driving, cooking, or carrying bags. Voice input that handles natural sentences and parses out quantities, units, and items.
Why voice for a grocery list
You think of grocery items at the worst times. Walking out the door, driving to pick someone up, standing in front of the open fridge with both hands full. Typing on a phone in those moments either doesn't happen or happens late. Voice fixes that: open the app, hit the mic, say what you need, done.
The catch with most voice tools is that they capture one long sentence as one item. I Forgot the List parses real sentences. Say "two pounds of chicken thighs, a gallon of whole milk, and a bag of clementines" and you get three separate items with their quantities, not one line of garbled text.
How it works
Step 1
Tap the mic
Open the app and tap the microphone at the bottom of the list. Recording starts immediately.
Step 2
Speak naturally
Say items in plain English. Quantities and multi-item sentences both work — no need to wait between items or use special syntax.
Step 3
Confirm or edit
The transcribed items appear in a preview. Tap to add them all, or tap any one to edit before adding.
When voice add actually saves time
Driving and you remember you're out of milk
Open the app at a red light, hit the mic, say "milk and bananas." Hands stay on the wheel; the list updates.
Cooking and you finish a jar of something
Wet hands, knife on the cutting board: voice the item before you forget. No tapping with your elbow or trying to dry off mid-recipe.
Walking out of the store realizing you forgot one thing
Add it for next time on the walk back to the car. Beats trying to remember it for three days.
Planning a meal out loud with your partner
"OK so we need chicken, two bell peppers, some kind of grain, garlic, and the good olive oil." One sentence, five items on the list.
Voice grocery list questions
Can I add items to my grocery list with my voice?
Yes. Tap the microphone and say what you need. Voice dictation handles natural sentences like "two pounds of chicken thighs and a dozen eggs" and parses quantities, units, and items automatically.
Does voice add work while I'm driving?
Yes, with appropriate hands-free safety. Open the app before you start driving, use the mic, and the dictation runs without requiring you to look at the screen.
What if voice gets a word wrong?
Tap to edit any item. The model is tuned for food and grocery vocabulary so common items are accurate; unusual brand names sometimes need a correction.
Does voice add work offline?
No — transcription is server-side for accuracy on food terms. If you are out of signal, type the item; the list syncs when you reconnect.
How do I try the voice grocery list app?
Install on iPhone, Android, or open the web app. There's a 7-day trial so you can run a couple of real grocery weeks with the voice feature before deciding whether to keep using it.
